Colleges in Washington

The State of Washington offers sporting events, fairs and festivals all year long. There are more than 100 state parks, from Pacific beach and Pacific Pines, on the coast, to Potholes and Wanapum State Parks in the southeast. Parks offer cabins, tents and yurts.

There are 14 sites run by The National Park Service in Washington. The Lake Roosevelt National Recreation Area, on the Columbia River, borders on Canada and offers, fishing, boating and hunting. The Lewis and Clark National Historical Park is made up of 12 sites on the coast including Fort Clatsop, a gatehead for two nature trails, and the Lewis and Clark Interpretive Center at Cape Disappointment, which was discovered--and named--by a despondent British explorer in 1788.

Yakima Training Center is a U.S. Army maneuver training area in central Washington. Its main impact area is used for tank, artillery, and infantry gunnery.
