Colleges in Florida
The Army has a presence at many of the numerous military installations in the beautiful southern state of Florida, but the most significant location is the U.S. Army Garrison in Miami, which is home to USSOUTHCOM, active in many military activities including drug interdiction. Florida has a famously lush and comfortable warm climate, and the climate is even tropical in many of the southern locations and islands off the coast.
The Gulf of Mexico, which provides much of this warm weather, is also the source of the occasional hurricane and tropical storm. Florida houses a host of universities, located in most major cities, such as Florida State University in Tallahassee and the University of Florida in Gainesville. Florida is one of the most common vacation spots in the entire nation (possibly the world), with hundreds of sunny beaches, many theme parks including Walt Disney World Resort in Orlando. The state is also home to swamps and wetlands teeming with vegetation and wildlife, such as the Florida Everglades.
