1. Congratulations. Being nominated to participate in the U.S. Army NCO of the Year Competition (NCOYC) is a significant personal accomplishment. Your Major Army Command (MACOM) recommendation signifies that you have proven yourself by winning a host of MACOM and subordinate command sponsored boards. I wish you the best of luck in the competition.

2. Overview. The NCOYC written examination will measure your general knowledge in a wide range of military subjects. It is a 50-question test that you will have one hour (60 minutes) to complete. The test proctor will have materials at the examination site.
