BCT Day 61

Man, I’m in a good mood. In two days it’s family day. Today is the inspection. We’ll be busy getting our barracks to look good. That’s the last thing we have to do. I took care of my personal area yesterday, so today I’ll help with big stuff like the floor. Hey! Korn is on the radio. What a happy day it is.

A very uneventful day. It’s after dinner and I didn’t write anything. We worked on our wall locker for the inspection tomorrow. We were supposed to have one today, but we didn’t. Typical.

When I said we were going to have an easy time cleaning our weapon, boy was I wrong. The weapon wash didn’t do much. We spent four hours cleaning weapons and half of them (including mine) are still dirty. We ain’t getting much sleep tonight.

DS Lewis gave us a practice inspection. I was the first one he checked. He threw my uniforms on the floor because I forgot to button a few buttons and my pant legs were facing the wrong way on the hanger. Oops. I don’t give a ****, of course. I fixed them with a smile and soldiered on. In three days I’m out.

A good thing happened this morning. DS Boston let us go to the PX by ourselves. I bought all the pins, ranks, and badges to make my class As look tight. And some Ricola cough drops. They’re my candy.
