BCT Day 45

I got stuck with a crappy weapons cleaning detail after shooting yesterday. A few of us stayed there for like two hours while everyone else got to go back to the barracks and chill.

I got stuck with a crappy weapons cleaning detail after shooting yesterday. A few of us stayed there for like two hours while everyone else got to go back to the barracks and chill. When I came back, people told me that a sergeant came looking for me about my finance problem. I was like, “****! I missed my chance.” It’s ok though. I got his name and I’ll try to hit him up when he comes back to work on Monday.

I’ve been looking forward to today for a long time. Today is Operation Appreciation. We get on a bus and leave Fort Knox. Woo hoo! We got to Louisville and eat hot dogs and drink soda. Best of all, no DSs. It’s done by the chaplain, but it’s not a religious event. We’re just getting a much needed change of scenery. I don’t know what else we’ll be do, but I’m hoping it’s fun. Now that we’re in blue phase, other platoons are allowed to listen to music in the barracks. We don’t have that privilege. Damn that sucks. 19 days left. Just 19 days.

We went to an obstacle course in the morning. It’s one of the same ones we did in red phase. I did a lot better this time. I’m a lot stronger. I still fell off the balancing logs, though. I can never do that ****. Still, it was fun as hell. As you know by now, it ain’t but a giant playground I get paid to play in.

Manuel, Cendy, Mom & Dad, please be patient. I got a bunch of mail this week and have not had time to reply. Tomorrow is Sunday though. I’ll write to you all then.
