Colleges - Degrees in Technology & IT

Technology & IT programs prepare students for a variety of jobs in information technology, including computer programming, computer hardware or software engineering, and network systems analysis. A four-year bachelor's degree is standard for many technology & IT jobs, but particular specialties may require other degrees. For example, database administrators and computer systems analysts sometimes need a master's degree, which usually takes two years to complete, while computer support specialists may only need certification or a two-year associate degree, depending on the job.

Job prospects after military friendly technology & IT colleges

  • Computer systems analysts, $80,430

According to the BLS's employment projections, between 2008 and 2018 jobs are expected to increase for computer support specialists by 14 percent and for database administrators and computer systems analysts by 20 percent.
