Military Online Colleges: Degrees in Business

Created by: MSG Randall High, U.S. Army (ret)

A degree from a military friendly business school can open doors to a variety of promising civilian careers. Here are some ways servicemembers can put their education benefits to work preparing for a business occupation.

Military personnel can make a smooth transition to a business career with the right education and training. A military career can build many skills, such as management and leadership. These skills are valuable in business careers as diverse as financial management, purchasing, auditing and accounting, meeting and convention planning and insurance underwriting.

Business schools and military friendly business colleges offer a range of programs to prepare for the requirements of these different occupations. A bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, economics, or business administration is usually required for a job in financial management, and many financial managers hold a master's degree or professional certification. Financial analysts need a bachelor's degree, and an MBA can be extremely useful, while insurance underwriters often need a bachelor's degree with a major in finance or business administration.

Military-friendly business programs for future career prospects
