The Mom and Baby Bag
Highly suggested items

Posted Monday, November 14, 2005

Mom's Bag:

  • 2 or more well fitting bras. Nursing bras may make it easier to breastfeed baby.
  • 2 or 3 pairs of cotton underwear. Be sure to bring your older pairs because you may bleed on them quite a bit and they may get stained.
  • 2 or more comfortable nightgowns. If you plan on breastfeeding, it will be easier if you have gowns that open from the front.
  • Slippers or slip on shoes with non-stick soles.
  • Personal care items (soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, comb, brush, etc...)
  • Loose fitting maternity clothing to wear home. You usually wear your maternity clothes for several days to weeks after delivery.
  • Camera with plenty of film. Don't forget to check the battery.

    Baby Bag:

  • 1 Going Home / Picture Outfit
  • 1 Car Seat (the hospital will not release you and your baby if you don't have one)
  • Baby bag with diapers, burp cloth, wipes for the trip home.
  • Blanket, hat and a warm outfit if it is cold outside.
