Colleges in Kentucky

Located along the Appalachian Mountains, and bordered by rivers on 3 sides, Kentucky's breathtaking landscapes are only one attribute this state has to offer. A popular destination in Kentucky is Horse County, where you can enjoy an abundance of equestrian attractions. Kentucky is also home to an astonishing 52 National Parks and several historical sites including the birthplace of Abraham Lincoln and Civil War Battlefields. Residents and tourists can also enjoy the sweet sounds of bluegrass music or hike and explore in the world's largest cave system, Mammoth Cave.

The well-known United States Army base of Fort Knox, located just 35 miles from Kentucky's largest city of Louisville, is one of the most widely used Army bases. Fort Campbell is also located in Kentucky, close to the border of Tennessee, and houses the only Air Assault Division in the world. Kentucky and many of its schools welcome members of the Army. University of Louisville and University of Kentucky are 2 Kentucky schools that are listed by GI Jobs Magazine as military friendly schools.
