The U.S. Army Rock Island Arsenal is located in the northwest region of Illinois on an island on the Mississippi River. Rock Island Arsenal is an Army installation that hosts over 70 Department of Defense Organizations and is home to the headquarters of three major worldwide Army organizations. Rock Island Arsenal provides numerous services to military personnel and provides comfort and support for members of the U.S. Army. Additionally, several Illinois schools, including Illinois State University and University of Illinois, were on the list of Military Friendly Schools put together by GI Jobs Magazine in 2010.
