Colleges in Georgia

Georgia is perhaps one of the states in the U.S. with the most Army presence. Located in the state of Georgia are Fort Benning (home of the US Army Infantry School and US Army Officer Candidate School), Fort Gordon (home of the U.S. Army Signal Corps), Fort McPherson, Fort Gillem, Fort Stewart, and Hunter Army Airfield. The large number of Army bases in the state means that many areas in Georgia are dependent on the Army for local business, making the state very military-friendly.

Georgia's capital and largest city is Atlanta, which is also in many ways a cultural center of the American South. Georgia is also home to many public and private universities with campuses spread across the entire state, both representing the University System of Georgia and the Technical College System of Georgia. Georgia's hot, humid summers and mild winters nurture a wealth of wilderness, with hunting, fishing and other outdoor activities always within reach.
