Colleges in Delaware

Delaware has few military installations, and the only area with significant Army representation is at Dover Air Force Base near the state capital of Dover. Because of Delaware's coastal location, the Atlantic Ocean tends to make the climate in the state mild but cool, although some areas vary quite a bit. The state has even seen hurricanes in the past. There are numerous colleges in Delaware, including the University of Delaware in the city of Newark and Delaware State University in Dover.

Delaware houses a variety of historical memorials and monuments, but also draws tourism with its coastal beaches in the summer and cultural festivals throughout the year. The beaches in particular draw summer vacationers from many of the surrounding states, making it one of the most popular locations to vacation in New England. Getting to locations within the state is generally very easy, as Delaware has one of the best public transportation systems in the U.S.
