Colleges in Arizona

Located in the center of the American Southwest, Arizona (our 48th state) is the location of some of the most fantastic and sweeping national geographic features in the entire nation, including the Grand Canyon and Meteor Crater. Most of the state is a desert climate, but wide variations in altitude create variations, from hot and dry summers to very mild weather year-round, depending on the location.

The best known Army installation in Arizona is Fort Huachuca, the home of the U.S. Army Military Intelligence Corps. Arizona is home to three public universities: the University of Arizona at Tucson, Arizona State University at Tempe, and Northern Arizona University at Flagstaff, along with a host of private schools. Arizona is a major center of tourism, including not only the major geographic marvels such as the Grand Canyon, but also the filming locations of dozens of major Hollywood movies. The capital of Arizona is Phoenix.
