The beautiful state of Alabama, with its hot humid summers and mild winters, is located in the very heart of the American South. From forests and lakes rich with wildlife to some of the oldest historical sites in the country, Alabama provides something for everyone, whether you enjoy hiking, hunting and fishing, or exploring American culture in museums and music festivals.

With its capital at Montgomery, the state is known as one of the more military friendly states in the nation. The major military installations in the state include Fort Rucker and Redstone Arsenal. Alabama schools are also very diverse with major universities providing many programs of study from medicine to law. Perhaps the best known school in Alabama is the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Going to school in Alabama provides an education both in and out of class, from traveling the scenic sights of the South to soaking up Southern hospitality.
