Raider Robbie said to you
"What are you going to do?
Bombs droppin' everywhere
Bullets flyin' through your hair"
You look at him with an empty face
And then he put you in your place

He said "Get up, stand up, fight for your right.
And pray to God you come home tonight."

Raider Robbie told to you
What you had to do
Hiding down in a foxhole
That is when you made your goal
You looked at him and then you said
"Let's do this for all the dead"

You said "Let's get up, stand up, fight for our right.
And pray to God you come home tonight."

Raider Robbie and you
Did what you had to do
Got up and ran through the battlefield
But Raider Robbie used you as a shield
Running through the gunfire
Diving under barbed wire.

We said "Get up, stand up, fight for your right.
And pray to God we come home tonight."

When Raider Robbie saw you fall
He stood straight up, strong and tall.
He knew what happened to you
'cuz you did what you had to do
He dragged your body back to base
And put it in the CO's face.

He said "You got up, stood up, and fought for our right.
But now he's not going home tonight."

Raider Robbie decided you
Did all that you could do
Placed a purple heart on your chest
And buried you in front leaning rest.
And at your funeral he said
You did it for all the dead.

"He got up, stood up, and fought for our right.
But now he's not going home tonight."

And when the battle was all done
Because of you the US won
Raider Robbie made it through
Only because of you
And now he says to the rest
That you were one of the best

"You got up, stood up, and fought for our right.
And because of you we went home tonight."
