BCT Day 11

Sunday, Sunday, relaxin’ Sunday. I’m laying on my bunk relaxing, my stomach’s full of pancakes, and I’m getting ready to go to my religious service.

Sunday, Sunday, relaxin’ Sunday. I’m laying on my bunk relaxing, my stomach’s full of pancakes, and I’m getting ready to go to my religious service.

Basic is really going by fast for me. I guess it’s because I’m always so busy. I count my time by Sundays: two down, 7 to go.

Next week, we have a giant wall to climb and hand-to-hand combat. Woo!…What’s that, God? Sorry. God is calling me now. How weird.

It is now much much later. The Jewish service was actually pretty boring. It was in a fallout shelter(bomb shelter) at the bottom of the chapel. There were like 15 people there. We just read some psalms with a volunteer rabbi. Afterwards it was pretty cool. He brought us cookies and juice. That was nice of him. It wouldn’t be a Jewish service without food at the end. We like to eat a lot.

After lunch, we got to trade in our linen for clean linen. That’s pointless since we all sleep on top of our bunks to avoid making them every morning.

One of our guys broke his leg. What a shame. At least it happened early in the cycle, since he’ll have to start over.

I got to use the phone today. I called my parents first, but they didn’t answer. Since when do you go out on Sundays? Where were you? Then I called my girl. I got to talk to her, so I’ll be in a good mood for the coming week.

Everybody’s outside training but us. We never train. I want to go for a run or something, but it’s too early in the cycle to go on our own. We’ll get to do PT on our own later in the cycle. Not much else today. I hope we get phone usage every Sunday.
