Learning what foreign governments and forces are involved in helps our military experts better plan our nation's defense. That's where a Signals Intelligence Analyst is most valuable. They listen to and intercept foreign radio transmissions and relay that information by producing combat, strategic and tactical intelligence reports.

As a Signals Intelligence Analyst, you may be involved in:

• Recording radio signals coming in from foreign forces
• Studying radio signals to understand the tactics used by foreign military forces
• Locating the sources of foreign radio signals
• Translating Morse code
• Keeping logs of signals interceptions

Training:

Job training for a Signals Intelligence Analyst requires 9 weeks of Basic Training, where you learn basic Soldiering skills. Then you will attend Advanced Individual Training that consists of 18 weeks of classroom training, including practice in operating radio equipment. Some of the skills you'll learn are:

• Use of specialized radio receivers
• Security operations
• Morse code
